Status March 2013

When I write about HP-41 calculators, the guys over at HP Forum reads it but few comment on the post (they do plenty of commenting in the forum). When I write about my realizations in philosophy or physics, many different people read it and interesting discussions ensue. When I write about my positive experiences in Scientology, some people read it and there are some comments (less than 200 comments on a blog post is not much here). When I write something critical about Scientology, the place goes ballistic.

I don’t much care how many reads what or how many comments. This blog is an act of selfishness. I enjoy writing. It helps me sort my thoughts and views. I invite others to comment and reading other’s viewpoints helps me improve my views. But it is interesting to see what gets traction, and since I have a few years of statistics, I’d like to share a few points.

December was the most active month ever, both in number of views and number of readers (some 15000 views and a couple of thousand readers). January beat December. February was another high, and March will beat February by a good margin.

Reflecting on the recent months, I see that when I post often, there is more action (duh!). And when I sort out my own earlier “brainwashing” (accepted data without thorough inspection), lively discussions ensue. These posts generate more comments on Scientology than on any other blog on the Net (with more than 1700 comments on one post). It seems that criticizing Scientology generates lots of emotions that results in action (posting of comments). Maybe because it triggers bad experiences or because it challenges beliefs? Or are there other reasons?

I will try out a different topic soon and see how that fares. Stay tuned.

  1. SELF-ish. Hm…when I asked you the question, what the nature of that I AM ME was, your answer was: Just
That’s the core of our being, our true nature. Everybody feels it, even if not conscious of it.
So it draws “people” here. As it is that which is still (motionless) but has the ability to “move” energy, so there are different “thoughts” and “emotions”. So this Just meets considerations, emotions, the SELF (a bunch of different considerations and energy types).
The Just “flows” (like a river, it’s an analogy) and sometimes flows through (your wins), sometimes finds resistance, sometimes gets stuck…..but flows…..could be written down in a better way but basically this is how I see it. This is what I experience in my life too, not only what I see happening on your blog.
Why more activity from November on….find the reason. I’d be interested in your answer to that. Part of my instant answer is that you “opened” yourself up to people more (Amazing persons) and also that you write down more and more “intimate” thoughts….by this I mean truth….as it is….sure this is the way….as no matter that this universe is an “energy” universe,
when there is no holding back of any energy by “speaking out” one’s considerations…you have THE FLOW.

  2. “when I sort out my own earlier “brainwashing” (accepted data without thorough inspection), lively discussions ensue.” Of course…when there is an outflow (Life), everybody feels the Flow (our core nature) and the data out, each of us inspects it on the common flow….to dissect it….so the discussion is, as you write, LIVELY…more and more Life. Truth.

  3. “criticizing…..generates lots of emotions”, yes, criticizing anything does that. Its root is the RIGHT-WRONG dichotomy. I won’t write more about it, maybe later. I let others voice their views…me being very active now, you see?

I think it has also to do with the SUPPRESSED communication!

There was so much one could not communicate being in the CoS because of the various circumstances or because it was confidential or labeled “entheta”, “disaffection” etc. and the consequences. There was mostly no open communication flow when having disagreements, doubts (or only questions), not even to your closest friend or spouse.

And when you now have a place where you invite open communication and questioning and discussion, the flood gate opens and people take the chance to talk about it.

And … your act of selfishness … seems to appeal to many people.:)

  5. I pretty much agree with what “me” says.
Isene you are doing a fantastic job and I enjoy your commenting more. Really keeps it lively.
Personally I’m still to chicken or ignorant to comment much and do enjoy and learn from the others.

You have just PRESENTed your new post here – Drop sales – and the comments are coming faster.
What can be the reason for that? (hahaha…)
