Amazing person: YOU

Because you are awesome. You do possess amazing qualities and you can shine.

It is easy to forget, to get the idea that you are less than amazing, to agree that perhaps you are not that good.

One of my sons came to me the other day and told me that another boy had hurt his feelings at school. I asked him who held the key to his emotions. He looked at me and said “I do“. I replied “But this time you gave it away to that other kid“. “Yeah…“. I asked “Should you take it back?“. He nodded and smiled. Back to his usual amazing self.

Try this: Every evening – find something that day that proved you are an amazing person. It doesn’t have to be big or profound. It can be that you really listened to another, were there 100% for the kids, helped another, lifted a friend or inspired another person. All of those are truly amazing actions if you really think about it. It’s all too easy to focus on what’s lacking, what’s wrong or what should be better. When you start focusing on what’s right, what’s good or amazing, something magical occurs.

I have written a series of “Amazing person” blog post. And it never occurred to me that something truly magical would happen in my life. But it did. And I am now pretty sure that there was a connection between me opening up my eyes for the amazingess in other people to what has recently happened. I will not yet relate what it is. All in due time. But I will tell you this: If you grab this torch and start writing about amazing people in your life, I bet there is a good chance that you will start to change. And perhaps that change will startle you.

I will write about other amazing people in the future, but right now I have reached a good point where it is time to let some other ideas, thoughts and emotions get some space on this blog.

May you understand how amazing you truly are.

  1. Wow, you’re Good!
It brought to mind, of my last years study of Ron’s words and it became apparent to me how low toned so much of it was. The attitude really put me off in many ways altho I recognized it and could continue to study. Such put downs and concentrating on lower “bads” and not enough for the “good” or positive aspects of humanity or self was an eye opener. Just an observation in 100’s of lectures.
So yes, as you say, WHO HOLDS THE KEY TO EMOTIONS? That is a great lesson we learn and need to be reminded of occasionally it seems. Thank you Geir, for the reminder and the acknowledgement.

  2. Reading this article, I have a strong feeling of recalling of that December 2006 Time Magazine issue in which the “Person of the Year” was…”YOU!” People can receive and understand in different ways Geir’s article, but without any lack of modesty I felt that this one was dedicated to ME. Not ME as a specific person, but ME as a part of blog readers community, as a part of group of people Geir shared his emotions, ideas and feelings. I’m just a little part of that “YOU”, who have to spread the message Geir gave us by this “Amazing people” series: Respecting human values, you will either respect yourself and the whole mankind.
This is what I’ve learned by this series, and I will do my best to deserve the place in that…”YOU”.

  3. “And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make…” Wow. Carry on!

  4. Geir, I truly have the sense that we are all going in the positive direction you are writing about more and more. And you are contributing to it. Thanks for doing that! 🙂

    1. What Geir is writing is an example for all of us. I have an enourmous respect for him, even I’ve met him just for 30 min. I’ve learned myself a lot entering everyday in his online world.

      1. I know, Dragos. I must have posted a couple dozen comments saying the same thing – how much I’ve learned. Part of the reason is that I take part, and I’m glad to see you doing so sometimes. You’ve made some good contributions. 🙂

LRH: ”Factor 29. In the opinion of the viewpoint, any beingness, any thing, is better than no thing, any effect is better than no effect, any universe better than no universe, any particle better than no particle, but the particle of admiration is best of all.”

    1. “Outstanding leaders go out of their way to boost the self-esteem of their personnel. If people believe in themselves, it’s amazing what they can accomplish.” Sam Walton

    2. To all of you
I do agree when admiration affinity is better than any other flow the MEST Universe can offer, BUT there is a downside to admiration: it freezes that being into that position.
Don’t want to change go away from that flow, since it is considered good, best above all, because of those considerations the being will continue to create the MEST.
If you believe I am a party popper a wet rag, because expressing my reality and seeing the admiration in different reality…. well that is your reality.[since some of you will see my post in that light]
It is very simple, the MEST exist because it admired and is continualy created by admiration…

      1. What do you think it would take to unite and resolve, like the universal solvent, all types of energy, particularly force?

        1. confrontaion, to as -is, nothing can remain if it is confronted no matter how much force is there. Admiration means: one less likely effected by that force but that admiration still not as-is that force.
While one confronts, one locates the reason, the original postulate which brought that force into existance in the first place. Admiration will not give one that understanding that knowledge.

          1. Okay,I get that what you are saying regarding mental energy or force is that “nothing can remain if it is FULLY confronted” – in other words, with full confront the force will be as-ised. Another way to describe the same thing would be to say “nothing can remain if it is FULLY communicated with”. Which is the reason communication is called the universal solvent – it dissolves all things.

Admiration relates to communication in that that admiration is actually the SUBSTANCE of a communication line, according to the definition (of admiration). The definition also states that admiration is “a particle which unites and resolves, like the universal solvent [communication], all types of energy, particularly force”.

So I think the key to understanding that admiration can dissolve force (and as-is it) is in the word “full” – just as it takes “FULL confront” or “FULL communication” to get an as-isness.

  6. This ‘Amazing People’ series has sent a great deal of positive flow from the top of the world all the way down under. Thanks Geir, for the reminder that amazing can be found in Oslo, Aussie and everywhere in between.

  7. I loved your series about amazing people. Your handling of your son made me really think. You are so right about one own key to ones own emotions! In the normal day to life I forgot this viewpoint which I had one time. Thanks for refreshing it! 🙂

  8. I totally agree that amazing things happen when you bring out the best in others.

    YOU are truly amazing!

Have your say
